Every workshop is free, and shaped to the group who asks for it.
Tea & Talk
A trauma-responsive workshop aimed at preventing the acquisition and transmission of STBBIs. Each session is tailored to the group, and usually includes gentle grounding and meditation, a healthy meal together, strategies to prevent STBBIs, blending teas that address emotional and physical health concerns, and wisdom shared by Indigenous knowledge keepers.
M.E.D
"Making Empowered Decisions" is a series of workshops for people who are incarcerated. It aims to prevent the acquisition and spread of STBBIs by building the health literacy of people involved in the justice system.
Youth workshops
Art-based workshops run in partnership with local youth services, schools, communities and First Nations, covering healthy relationships, consent and boundaries, safer partying, harm reduction, sexual health, and decision making and leadership. Youth are invited to make art about the topic for distribution in the community — they decide what matters and what needs sharing.
Service provider training
Free training for service providers across the Yukon, aimed at preventing STBBIs, reducing the stigmatisation of people who use drugs, and improving social services for them. Rooted in harm reduction principles, developed with people with lived experience, and shaped to what you ask for — common requests are Harm Reduction 101, naloxone and opioid overdose response, and sexually transmitted and blood borne infections.
Naloxone training for businesses
Free naloxone training at a time and place that suits your business. Afterwards you're eligible for our Knock for Naloxone program: marketing materials, naloxone to distribute, and a place on our list of participating businesses.
Health education campaigns
We partner with event promoters, non-government organisations and local businesses to bring health education to all Yukoners. Recent campaigns include the Hepatitis C Carnival, naloxone training at the Carcross Tagish First Nation Health & Wellness Fair, Support Don't Punish, the Watson Lake Health Fair, safer partying kits at Colour Me Queer, and a pre-movie naloxone training advertisement at Yukon Theatre.
