Found a needle on your lawn, in a park, outside your business? Don't touch it — call, and someone comes with the right container. This page is the whole process.

Don't pick it up
Not with your hands, not with a glove, not with a plastic bag. Keep kids and pets back. You've already done the right thing by stopping.

Call us
In Whitehorse, call 867-633-2437 between 8:30am and 4:30pm on weekdays. Evenings, call or text the outreach van at 867-334-1647.

Someone comes to you
A trained worker arrives with tongs and a sharps container and takes care of it. No charge, no report, no fuss.
Outside Whitehorse: call the RCMP or your local Community Health Centre — they handle disposal in the communities.
Comfortable doing it yourself? Free sharps containers are available at the Needle & Pipe window, and full containers can be returned there any weekday.
